The USDA Forest Service anticipates issuing a Request for Proposal for a Firm Fixed Price type contract. It is the intent of this contract to procure bridge replacement work for the Green Mountain National Forest. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-Furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary.
The solicitation and related documents will ONLY be available for download at the System for Award management (www.SAM.gov) on or about may 16, 2023. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed out. Interested vendors should register to receive notifications through this site. The resulting contract magnitude is anticipated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
NAICS: 237310 Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, the size standard is $45.0Million. This project is being solicited as a 100% set aside for Small Business. All work is to comply with local, Federal and State codes and is subject to applicable wage rates. Solicitation number: 12445523R0017. In order to receive award under this RFP the successful offeror shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.SAM.gov, and have completed the online representations and certifications and be a certified 100% Small Business.
All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the USDA Forest Service.
1. Location of Project Work
The work will be performed on Green Mountain National Forest, in Addison County located near Hancock, VT.
2. Firm Fixed Price contract
The Government will be seeking proposals for a firm fixed price contract for the replacement of trail bridge 1; the replacement of an observation deck; painting of existing trail bridge 2; and re-painting of the crosswalk.
3. Contract Award
Under this solicitation, one contract may be awarded to the offeror whose proposal represents the best value to the Government.
4. Scope of Contract
Work includes: layout and construction of cast-in-place concrete abutments; furnishing, fabricating, preparing, assembling, and erecting trail bridge 1, and an observation deck, and pathways, including but not necessarily limited to all steel, timber, connections, concrete, reinforcement, excavation, backfill, wood preservatives, metal parts, and hardware required; removal of existing fencing; repainting of crosswalk; and repainting of existing prefabricated truss bridge.
All project work shall be completed within 150 calendar days following start of work. The Forest Service prefers work to begin in early summer 2023.
