SCOPE OF CONTRACT
The Forest Road 59 – 4.9 Culvert Replacement Contract work shall include, but is not limited to, excavation, removal of existing culvert, layout and construction of the plate arch, construction of concrete substructures, stream simulation, roadway reconstruction, and approach work. The Contractor shall utilize a Government-furnished plate arch. The Contractor shall furnish all new hardware for the plate arch. See Attachments 2 and 5 for additional details.
The Contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, material, equipment, services, and facilities (except as otherwise specified), to perform the Work in accordance with the Specifications referenced below.
PROJECT LOCATION
FR59 – 4.9 culvert is located in the Green Mountain National Forest in Ripton, VT, 05766 in Addison County.
MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Per FAR Subpart 36.204, the anticipated price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-14, and its revisions are included by reference only (see Attachment 3). Also applicable, but not listed, is any other section or subsection of the included Specification(s) or any specific standard or specification referenced therein. The requirements contained in these specifications are hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bid and any resulting contract.
FP-14 can be downloaded directly from the following website free of charge: https://highways.dot.gov/federal-lands/specs.
Please note, it is the responsibility of the Contractor to verify they are using the current version.
In addition to the specifications referenced above, the Forest Service Supplemental Specifications (FSSS) are revisions to the Standard Specifications (FP-14) that incorporate changes and/or additions that are specific requirements unique to this particular project also apply (see Attachment 4).
The applicable Wage Determination is VT20230048 (see Attachment 6).
KEY DATES
Tentative date for issuing the Invitation for Bid is 05/05/2023.
Tentative date for opening bids is 05/23/2023.
Project must be completed by 10/31/2024.
The solicitation and all supporting documents will be posted on this website (SAM.gov) free of charge.
